Workshops and Events

Events and workshops are one of the unique features of our shop.  We strive to provide regular events for the local knit and crochet community.

Yarn Tastings

We present regular themed “yarn tastings” which allow each participant to try out several different fibres while enjoying a food and drink pairing.  These tastings are educational, providing detailed information about the construction and fibre content of each yarn, as well as its properties when knitted or crocheted. Participants then receive a discount on all of the yarn “tasted” during the event.

Workshops

fibre space puts together some of the area’s most unique workshops, featuring well-known designers, creative venues and exciting topics. We have hosted Wendy Johnson and Stephanie Japel at venues like the Morrison House and the Mansion on O Street. Save the date for:

Friday Night at the Movies

Each month, we will feature a fun and classic film in our shop along with sodas and popcorn. Bring your current work in progress and join us for a special night of stitching at the movies. No need to RSVP or register. These are free to all!  Here is our upcoming schedule:

Friday, February 26, 6:00 pm (showtime at 7) – Alice in Wonderland and a Mad Hatter Tea Party! Wear your loudest hat, as prizes will be given for the best knit or crocheted hat and the best “other” hat. Tea and treats will be served at 6 pm.
